From 1. October Denmark only receives ONLINE visa applications

Step 1:

Mandatory visa application online; https://applyvisa.um.dk

From 1st July a new mandatory online visa application system are rolled out internationally. This means that you must fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using ApplyVisa.um.dk  

Starting from September it is not possible to pay in cash at VFS. The payment can only be made using the online system.

Step 2:

Go to VFS in Addis Ababa;

Remember to bring your coverletter from the online application, and all supporting documents including a passport photo.

Step 3:

Biometrics

At VFS will obtain your biometrics and hand in original documents. Documents like marriage certificate, birth certificates, property licenses etc. should be verified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia. Documents in Amharic, Oromifa or other Ethiopian languages should be translated in English and then have the verification at MFA.

Step 4:

Interview

The visa applications are processed by the consular team at the Royal DanishEmbassy in Nairobi. The embassy might call you for an interview regarding your visa application. The interview will take place at VFS. Applicants should provide their own interpreter.
