The Embassy cooperates with regional actors and organisations in Ethiopia. One of the main task for the Embassy is to follow the developments in the African Union (AU) as well as the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) including supporting the organisations financially through Danish development assistance. The Embassy has a special focus on enhancing the partnership and cooperation with African countries regarding AU matters. In addition, the Embassy cooperates with partners like IOM and UNHCR with aim of improving the migration and refugee situation in the region. Ethiopia is hosting one of Africa’s biggest refugee population and it is also a country of origin, destination, and transit for mixed migration flows. Furthermore, the Embassy is side accredited to Sudan, South Sudan and Djibouti in which the Embassy is following the political developments and regional dynamics.
